APTMA sought 5pc rebate on export of textile products

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2016-01-28 13:00:00 – Lahore

All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) in light of low cotton production has put forth the demands before the government to wave off customs duty on cotton imports and has also demanded a five percent rebate on export of textile products.

Currently the importers are paying three percent customs duty on cotton.

The textile mills association Chairman Tariq Saud said that at least 110 factories are shut at the time.

According to textile mills association, as many as 40 mills could open on immediate basis if the government imposes ten percent duty on import of artificial yarn and clothes.

By imposing ten percent duty on import of artificial yarn and clothes it would help in increasing government’s finances.
