Americhem
Americhem, a global supplier of custom polymer solutions, has launched nPure and nZorb, two complementary PFAS-free functional additive technologies designed to add performance directly within the polymer matrix. Developed for fibre and nonwoven applications, the technologies are designed to address long-lasting odor control and moisture management.
By adding functionality directly to the polymer matrix, nPure and nZorb allow manufacturers to build odor control and moisture management into fibre and nonwoven products while supporting efficient processing and large-scale production.
nPure is designed to make odor control a built-in material property instead of a temporary surface treatment. The PFAS-free, fragrance-free and non-biocidal technology captures and reduces unwanted odors without using surface finishes or antimicrobial chemicals. The technology is compatible with PP, PE, PET and bicomponent fibre systems and is designed for commercial-scale production. Potential applications include hygiene products, medical products, textiles, automotive interiors among others.
nZorb is designed to make moisture-related performance a built-in material property rather than a temporary surface effect. When added to the polymer matrix, the technology improves wetting, wicking, absorbency, liquid strike-through, rewet and liquid movement. It is designed for polypropylene-based fibre and nonwoven systems and can be adjusted for applications in hygiene products, medical products, wipes, filtration and specialty nonwovens.
