Americhem, Inc. has introduced nDryve, a new PFAS-free technology platform designed to provide long-lasting resistance against liquids such as alcohol and other low-surface-energy fluids in fiber systems.
Unlike traditional coatings, nDryveâ„¢ is added directly into the polymer during the melting stage, allowing the functionality to become part of the fiber itself rather than sitting on the surface.
Matt Miklos from Americhem explained that changing global regulations are influencing how companies approach performance and safety in materials. He said that nDryveâ„¢ provides a solution that meets both performance needs and regulatory requirements without using PFAS.
The technology is designed for different types of fiber systems, including polyolefins and engineering materials such as PP, PET, and PA6. It can be used in various applications like medical textiles, apparel, face masks, hygiene products, carpets, and industrial protective fabrics, where durability, safety, and compliance are important.
