American Textile Company introduces bedding products using HeiQ tech

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2023-03-13 13:53:07 – USA

American Textile Company (ATC), a mattress manufacturer with its headquarters in Pittsburgh, is collaborating with the Swiss company HeiQ to launch a number of bedding products with HeiQ Allergen Tech for the North American market.

The partnership includes mattress and pillow protectors, pillows, mattress pads, comforters, blankets, and other categories of bedding products in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The first products will be marketed under ATC's CleanBoost technology and sold under the best-selling AllerEase and Sealy brands in 2024.

Launched at the end of 2022, HeiQ Allergen Tech is a 100% bio-based, organically derived technology that, with the aid of active probiotics, lowers exposure to inanimate allergens like pet and house dust mite matter. It offers one of the simplest and most affordable solutions for lowering allergy exposure in the bedroom.

The British Allergy Foundation conducted a thorough evaluation of the technology and awarded it the Allergy UK Seal of Approval. Also, it has been proven to successfully remove 96.6% of house dust mite matter allergy, 83.6% of cat hair allergen, and 76.5% of dog hair allergen by BMA Labor, an accredited lab in Bochum, Germany.

Patrick Seiffert, SVP of product development and marketing at American Textile Company, said that the company's new AllerEase CleanBoost products will be the first ever to provide dual-action protection against allergens. They are happy to develop a product that not only blocks inert allergens but also decreases them on and around the mattress by combining their knowledge in allergy barrier bedding with HeiQ's revolutionary fabric technology.

HeiQ Group CEO Carlo Centonze, said that ATC has always been a pioneer in embracing HeiQ's latest developments and offering functionalized bedding items to their clients. The multi-billion dollar home textiles business is being revolutionized by our environmentally friendly hygiene products. Their collaboration with ATC will significantly improve the lives of people because more than 90% of bedrooms in the US have three or more allergens that can be detected. HeiQ Allergen Tech can be used on drapes, carpet, and upholstery in addition to dramatically enhancing bedding products.

The partnership's new goods will be unveiled at the Home and Textiles Market Week in New York City from March 13–16 and on display at the Fifth Avenue ATC showroom.
