AllSpace, a Nigerian startup founded by Blossom Eromsele, has been honoured by the Swarovski Foundation’s Creatives for Our Future programme and The World Around’s Young Climate Prize for its low-cost, modular shelter prototypes designed to support displaced communities.
Inspired by traditional Nigerian architecture, the shelters use recycled materials such as aluminium, tarpaulin, and 3D-printed plastic to create ventilated, solar-powered structures that are affordable, quick to assemble, and livable for up to two years.
Featuring hexagonal designs, mud-based platforms, and communal layout flexibility, the shelters offer both practicality and cultural familiarity for displaced individuals, with insulation made from dried grass and double-layered tarpaulin.
