Alchemie Technology and JSRTEX Group partner to reduce carbon emissions

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-05-16 16:04:55 – United Kingdom

Leading British clean-tech company Alchemie Technology has received a substantial grant to address pollution in the global textile finishing sector. The grant, in partnership with Innovate UK, amounts to £742,254 and will support Alchemie and JSRTEX Group, a Taiwanese textile innovator, in revolutionizing Taiwan's textile industry.

Their main goal is to eliminate traditional textile lamination processes by developing an innovative and sustainable method for digitally applying polyurethane to fabrics without direct contact.

This collaboration, the first of its kind between the UK and Taiwan, aims to reduce emissions and wastewater in the textile supply chain. This initiative is expected to help major fashion brands meet their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets, resulting in a more efficient and environmentally friendly supply chain.

Alchemie recently launched its Endeavour low-carbon digital textile dyeing production and inaugurated its first production and demonstration facility in Taiwan, dedicated to dyeing woven polyester. These milestones mark significant progress in Alchemie's efforts to scale up its operations.

Alan Hudd, CEO and Founder of Alchemie Technology, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the UK and Taiwan in addressing emissions and pollution in the textile industry. He highlighted the shared purpose between the two nations and expressed gratitude for the support from Innovate UK and the Taiwanese government.
