Adobe, known for showcasing creative software, surprised everyone by revealing 'Project Primrose,' during the Adobe MAX conference 2023 held in Los Angeles. This project is unique and focuses on a dress that can quickly change its shapes and designs.

Unlike regular fabric, the Project Primrose dress uses a flexible textile display, which is quite different. Before this dress, Adobe had shown this "smart display fabric" on smaller items like a handbag and canvas, but now they've taken it to the next level by creating a full dress.

This dress can transform, changing from a plain white color to a shiny, reflective surface. Different parts of the dress can change colors, creating different and exciting patterns. This innovation uses 'Reflective Light-Diffuser Modules' to bring alive what they call 'Non-Emissive Flexible Display Systems.'

The dress is covered in tiny displays resembling scales that can change and create various designs on the dress. Essentially, this means you can wear patterns and images like a screen on the dress. The whole surface of the dress shows content made using Adobe Firefly, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Stock, and Adobe Illustrator.

Designers can use this technology to incorporate into clothing, furniture, and various surfaces, opening up a world of style options. This includes the ability to download and wear the latest designs from favorite designers.

According to Adobe's official website, recent progress in smart materials has completely changed displays. Now, displays are not just on flat surfaces but can seamlessly blend into everyday objects. Although Project Primrose is not yet available as a product, it proves a concept, demonstrating an innovative way to see and try out designs and patterns in real-time.
