AATCCâ€™s 2017 International Conference organized by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists will be held this March in Wilmington, NC, USA. The conference will cover areas like Adhesives/Methods for Joining Textile Materials, Advances in Dyeing, Environmental/Safety Issues, Performance Finishes, Improving ROI on Technology, Communication and Management, Innovative Technologies, Virtual Fit and Body Scanning.
A keynote presentation will take place on the second day of the event, entitled Walmart: Investing in American Jobs.
Joe Quinn, Senior Director, Walmart Public Affairs and Government Relations, will talk about the companyâ€™s commitment to purchase and sell an additional US$ 250 billion in US made products over a ten-year period.
His presentation looks at the efforts by the worldâ€™s largest retailer to work closely with large and small suppliers to bring jobs back to the United States from overseas location. Quinn will talk about why Walmart customers indicate they are looking in store for products made in the US, and why this work is critical to the resurgence of thousands of communities.
The education portion of the conference will feature three tracks reflecting the Associationâ€™s Interest Groups: Concept 2 Consumer (C2C), Chemical Applications, and Materials. Sessions in the C2C track will focus on advances in digital printing and product design, standardizing in a colourful world, designing products â€“ quality, care, sustainability and creativity, and approaching business for growth and innovation.
The Chemical Applications track will address advances in dyeing technology, polymer and fiber modifications, odor management & evaluation, and the Herman and Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competition. Presentations in the Materials track will include natural and nature-inspired, healthcare, protective and military, and materials analysis.
AATCC International Conference will take place from 28th March to 30th March 2017 at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside in Wilmington, USA.
