Novonesis has launched DeniBrite, a new biobleaching platform for denim that brings together its existing enzyme-based bleaching solutions. The platform is designed to help denim formulators and laundries create a range of finishes while improving process performance and meeting growing sustainability and compliance requirements.
The platform includes DeniBrite Cold T, which is designed to create bright and modern denim looks using lower-temperature bleaching, and DeniBrite Vintage, which is intended to produce vintage-style finishes and grey-cast effects. Together, the two solutions give denim manufacturers more options to create different looks based on brand and consumer requirements while reducing their dependence on conventional bleaching methods.
Developed by Novonesis, a bluesign System Partner, the DeniBrite products are bluepass certified, indicating that they are produced using processes that meet bluesign Criteria. The range is also available in formulations that comply with ZDHC Level 3 requirements, supporting manufacturers looking to meet stricter chemical management standards.
A screening-level Life Cycle Assessment of DeniBrite Cold T also showed approximately 40% lower global warming potential and 28% lower water consumption compared with conventional sodium hypochlorite bleaching under the conditions assessed. These results provide manufacturers with environmental performance data that can be used when discussing sustainability with brands and customers.
