BGMEA, Intertek strengthen ties for a sustainable future

A meeting between the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Intertek Bangladesh took place at the Uttara BGMEA Complex to discuss ways to improve sustainability and strengthen cooperation in the garment sector.

The meeting was joined by Ajay Kapoor, Regional Managing Director of Intertek South Asia, and Inamul Haq Khan, Senior Vice President of BGMEA, along with senior officials from both sides. The discussion highlighted key challenges faced by the garment industry and stressed the need to build a stronger and more sustainable business environment.

Inamul Haq Khan shared BGMEA’s vision to make the industry more resilient and competitive through close collaboration with Intertek, using its Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification (ATIC) services. He also pointed out the importance of digital tools and regular training for workers and managers, especially for small and medium enterprises, and reaffirmed BGMEA’s commitment to maintaining a unified standard for social and environmental practices.

Ajay Kapoor recognized Bangladesh’s garment sector as an important player in the global market and confirmed Intertek’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with BGMEA. “Our aim is to improve the business practices and efficiency of BGMEA members by offering world-class services,” he said.
