Hyosung, the world’s largest producer of elastane, is helping brands create swimwear collections that reflect the key trends for Spring/Summer 2026. According to insights from the company’s Fashion Design Center (FDC), major themes shaping upcoming swimwear include wellness, the rise of sports-related travel, and increased demand for eco-friendly materials.

Sporty, fashion-forward swimwear is gaining popularity, with surf-inspired designs and adventure-ready silhouettes becoming key styles. These looks combine modern textures, enhanced functionality, and sustainable materials. Hyosung is meeting this demand through its wide range of recycled and high-performance fibres under the creora and regen labels.

Panache, for example, is launching five swimwear ranges made entirely from recycled PalmTree fabric, featuring RCS-certified regen elastane derived from waste materials recovered during Hyosung’s production process.

Speedo is also embracing surf-inspired design with its Lookout Volley 16” men’s board shorts, the brand’s first fully recycled four-way stretch shorts, made with 100% regen elastane. The product highlights the growing popularity of activewear that blends functionality with sustainability.

Italian brand Yamamay is further expanding its sustainable swimwear collection with its Basic Essential line. It features FishTale fabric, co-developed by Hyosung and Hung Yen Knitting & Dyeing Co., Ltd., which combines Hyosung’s regen Ocean nylon, sourced in part from discarded fishing nets, with 100% recycled regen elastane. This innovation reduces ocean waste while supporting circular fashion practices.
