Swarovski collaborates with Climeworks to tackle CO2 emissions

With new five-year cooperation with CO2 removal company Climeworks, Swarovski is bolstering its environmental strategy.

Climeworks' CO2 air capture technology will be used by the luxury jewelry business to assist cut, eliminating, and offsetting CO2 emissions. To meet the climate targets set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement, reduction, elimination, and offsetting are all necessary methodologies.

Swarovski is investing in more efficient production operations as well as finding more sustainable materials for goods, packaging, and architecture to lower its worldwide carbon footprint. As a result, the brand believes that this will have a positive impact on goods transportation and other value-chain processes.

Swarovski hopes that its new deal with Climeworks would inspire others to start their own carbon-reduction journey.

Michele Molon, Swarovski's interim CEO, said that in 2021, they strengthened their sustainability approach, concentrating on the important subject of climate mitigation. They have aligned with the Science-Based Targets program to further their commitment, as they believe scientific knowledge is essential to understanding and effecting change. They are marking Their continuous quest to face one of our planet's most serious concerns by signing this carbon removal deal with Climeworks on their CO2 removal technology.
