Bangladesh Jute Mill Corporation, the world’s largest jute exporter is all out of exploring new markets beyond US, Canada and EU countries for its jute products. BJMC with its eight member team after their visit to Morocco and Nigeria, they were in Oman on Wednesday to meet the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) officials to explore business opportunities for jute products.

According to Major General Humayun Khaled (rtd), the chairman of BJMC, they had a successful meeting as the OCCI officials took keen interest in their products and business plans. They have agreed to organize awareness programmes, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions of jute products in Oman in the coming months.

The demand for jute products is high as it is manufactured from natural fibre, which is absolutely eco-friendly and free from health hazards. Most importantly, just right for Oman’s climatic conditions.

The Omani trade officials and business people have been invited to Bangladesh by BJMC to learn more about jute farming and jute products

BJMC, as the largest manufacturer in the jute sector produces from jute, the longest natural fibre in the world, mainly Hessian cloth, different types of Hessian bags, sack cloth, different types of jute bags, yarn, geo-jute, blankets, jute canvas, carpet backing cloth, and so on.

BJMC has around 82,000 employees and exports at least 200,000 tonnes of jute products to more than 100 countries and is now all set to explore more markets to increase its exports.
