Nylon price moves up amid high raw material cost

In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices were up US cents 3 a kg in the first week of August while FDY40D were up US cents 8 a kg on the week. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were steady while 30D/10F were flat on the week. Nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices rolled over while monofilament 30D prices rose US cents 8 a kg during the week.

Nylon filament yarn prices continued to march higher to cover margins on firmer raw material costs. Yarn makers cut operating rate while buyers made some replenishment, contributing to better fundamentals.

Caprolactum price edges up on tight supply in Asia

Asian caprolactum markers, the SE and FE were up US$10 a ton in the first week of August. In China, offers for liquid spot were stable while solid goods offers were up US$120 a ton on the week.

Caprolactum prices edged up on the week on moderate demand and tight supply and on back of range‐bound raw material benzene cost. In China, liquid goods offer in spot market were quoted at a roll over while solid goods were at hiked significantly.
