Clothing production in Greek decline 12.7% in January-July 2016, while the textile production grew 5.2% during the same period.

Clothing export totaled 319 million euros in terms of value, down from 340 million euros in the same period last year, while textile exports totaled 295 million euros in value up from 260 million euros in the corresponding period last year.

In total, the value of Greek exports of clothing/textiles (including primary production of cotton) totaled 693 million euros in the January-July period, down 0.8 pct from the same period in 2015.

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices were up US cents 4 a kg in the third week of September while FDY40D were up US cents 8 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices also rose US cents 4 a kg while 30D/10F were stable on the week.

Monofilament 30D prices rolled over while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices were range bound during the week.

Asian caprolactam markers, the SE and FE rolled over in the third week of September while Japanese goods were flat on the week. In China, offers for liquid spot fell US$40 a ton while solid goods offers were down on the week too.

Caprolactum prices edged down sharply on range bound raw material benzene cost and amid modest demand. In China, liquid goods offer in spot market inched down while mainstream values for solid goods declined. East European goods were stable at previous week’s level.

The organizers of the Yarn, Fabric & Accessories (YFA) 2016 trade show, have joined hands with SRTEPC, one of the oldest export promotion councils in India for the promotion of Indian man-made fibre and textiles to offer a 15% subsidy to SRTEPC members who want to exhibit at YFA 2016. YFA 2016 will be held from November 23-26, 2016.

Textile industry delegates have urged the Textile Ministry to come out with cotton fibre security policy to curtail the volatility in the price of the white fibre in the coming season. Members alleged that the stagnated growth in the cotton textile industry and exports is caused due to volatility in cotton prices.

The 19-member delegation which is led by SIMA and BJP State General Secretary met Mrs. Smriti Irani and submitted a joint memorandum.

Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) delegation team met Mr. Vijay Rupani chief minister of Gujarat with the demand for 50 lakh sq m land for textile processing cluster at Pinrat.

Pakistan expects 11.2 million bales of cotton output this season as compared to 10 million bales produced last year.

According to sources, the selling price of cotton seeds from Rs 3,000 to 3,200 per 40-KG encouraged farmers to cultivate cotton crops on more land and enhance the cotton production in this season,

The experts and scientists helped train more than 8,000 farmers to overcome losses of cotton crops and evolved measures against the virus which harmed the cotton crops in the past.

Viscose spun yarn prices were largely stable to up in Asian markets. In China, yarn makers were mostly, seen liquidating volumes at prevailing market prices, on the back of modest fresh order intake. Offers and discussions for ring-spun 30s yarn were up on the week.

In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s yarn prices declined in the third week of September while 45s PC combed yarn prices rolled over on the week. 32s PV (65/35) were unchanged on the week. Blended yarn prices stayed unchanged in the week in China, more in line with the current stabilization of cotton prices. However, PSF prices did moderate, but still high cotton prices has apparently neutralised blending opportunities.

In Shengze, offers for 32s and 45s polyester yarn remained unchanged in the second week of September. In Qiangqing, offers for 32s weaving were stable on the week.

Spun polyester yarns market in China dropped from stability amid lackluster selling atmosphere. Mainstream offers for spun polyester yarn 32s and 45s, however, rolled over, given the holiday-shortened week while PSF prices generally remained range bound.
