Huntsman Textile Effects has been in its 17th year under partnership as a trusted and preferred supplier for the Viyellatex Group has further extended partnership and collaboration agreement with Viyellatex Group for another two years. DBL Group, a leading apparel exporter who got 170 acres of land inside the state-owned zone from Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza) to set up 19 factories inside Sreehatta economic zone in Moulvibazar of Sylhet by 2021 for which they have taken up a $1.2 billion investment plan.

It will build a spinning mill, a ceramics factory and industrial units to manufacture raw materials and finished products, such as integrated sportswear and apparel accessories, for domestic and export markets.

MEG price declines due to bearish sentiment in Asia

Asian spot MEG fell US$10 a ton CFR China and CFR South East Asia In the last week of September. In China, offers for nearby-month cargoes were down US$10 a ton during the week. Mono ethylene glycol prices in Asia were assessed lower as upstream market weakened this week.

Prices were also pulled down due to bearish sentiment and offloading of cargoes prior to the Golden Week holiday in China. China’s Sinopec Yanshan Petrochem had planned to shut MEG plant on 9th October which has a capacity of 70,000 tons a year.

Paraxylene price ascends in US, Europe

Asian paraxylene markers, CFR Taiwan/China fell US$9 a ton in the last week of September while FOB Korea was also down US$9 a ton. Isomer-grade mixed xylene prices lost US$3 on the week. Paraxylene prices in Asia declined during the week in tandem with falling ethylene prices amid somewhat balanced availability in the region. South Korea's Hyundai Cosmo restarted paraxylene plant during the week after shutting it down in August. It has a paraxylene capacity of 380,000 tons a year.
