The 11th edition of Yarnex International Exhibition a one-stop sourcing destination and also a converging point for knitters and weavers to interact with spinners and discuss the emerging technologies got off to a radiant start in Tirupur on Thursday.
Tirupur Exporters Association president Raja Shanmugam inaugurated the event in the presence of TEA general secretary T. R. Vijayakumar and representatives of various other textile associations.
The three-day fair has participation of yarn, fabrics and accessories manufacturers from China, United States, Japan and India, showcasing a wide portfolio of value-added fabrics, yarn, fibres and accessories.
Some of the innovative products on display include fire safe fabrics that have properties to retard fire, polyester fabrics with high moisture absorption properties, blended special yarn, dyed yarn, fibres made from recycling of Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles and embellishments.
This event showcases product like largest wool shows, wonderful vendors, sheep shearing demonstrations by Matt Gilbert, Angora rabbit fiber gathering demonstration, all kind of fiber arts & natural fiber production from Textile, Fabrics & Yarns industry.
P. Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer of S. S. Textile Media, the organizer of the fair said that only 28 companies took part in the first edition held a decade ago. But the current edition witnessed a significant increase in the number of participants as 139 companies set up stalls against 94 companies in the previous edition.
Yarnex is being held from 21st September to 23rd 2017 at the IKF complex in Tirupur, India.
