Woolrich launches foundation to protect the environment

Woolrich, a leading outdoor brand in the United States, has partnered with 1% for the Planet to launch the Woolrich Outdoor Foundation.

As part of its plan to conserve the outdoors for people around the world, the foundation will devote funds and resources to protect the brand’s three main pillars: forests, coastlines, and urban space.

The urban renewal projects would be targeted at low-income and vulnerable communities. In order to further its pledge to fight global change, the company will devote funds and services to the cultivation and conservation of forests around the world. The coastal climate, as well as the protection, health, and overall well-being of coastal communities and economies, will receive additional funding and support.

Stefano Saccone, Woolrich’s chief executive explained on the brand’s website that they believe in giving back to the people and the environment that have motivated and helped them to create their brand. They will protect and shape a brighter and more prosperous future by working together to contribute, volunteer, and actively provide service.

Woolrich will contribute 1% of all direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, and full-price revenues to impactful environmental initiatives such as urban space renewal, forest protection, and coastal maintenance by 1% for the Planet.

The Woolrich Outdoor Foundation intends to contribute 50% cash and the remaining 50% in merchandise, volunteer hours, programs, or advertisement and communications initiatives for the first three years, with a total donation of no less than $3 million.

The outdoor brand added that in the first three years, the Woolrich Outdoor Foundation’s donations to “meaningful environmental programs” are expected to exceed no less than $3 million US dollars.
