W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. Newark, Del.-based manufacturing company specializing in products derived from fluoropolymers. It has introduced an improved version of GORE-TEX®, its breathable, lightweight fabric that offers durable waterproof and windproof protection.
The light and fast Gore-Tex fabric, designed especially to offer comfortable performance in active wear, features a new technology that provides improved comfort by considerably reducing the build-up of sweat and moisture next to the skin during and after intense activity.
In addition to its moisture-transport capabilities and protection provided in wet and windy environments, the new fabric resists contamination from jet fuels; DEET; and other petroleum, oils and lubricants, Gore reports; and is suitable for military apparel applications.
Gore further reports the fabric enables garment designers to create lightweight, packable garments, and that companies including ADS, Arc’Teryx, Patagonia and Wild Things are debuting products featuring the fabric.
Garments made from GORE-TEX® fabrics are durably waterproof, windproof and breathable so that you stay dry and comfortable.
