Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh meets US parliamentarians and businesses to discuss measures to boost bilateral economic and trade ties as Vietnam would continue to coordinate with the US and other parties to step up negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Ninh during his meetings with chairman of US House of Representatives’ Committee for Finance Ron Wyden and Senate’s Budget Committee chairman David Camp proposed that the US give Vietnam a degree of flexibility and technical assistance in the implementation of TPP commitments due to the differences between the two countries in terms of development.
On Vietnam’s multilateralisation and diversification, Ninhn said that Vietnam has always cherished cooperation with the US as part of the bilateral strategic partnership established by Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and US President Barack Obama last July.
Ninh also has the opportunity to meet a number of US businesses and representatives from the US-Asean Business.
