Under Armour launches t-shirt utilizing Neolast

Under Armour and Celanese Corp. joined forces in January to develop Neolast, a groundbreaking fiber for performance stretch fabrics. Neolast serves as an alternative to spandex, offering durability, comfort, and enhanced wicking properties without the use of hazardous chemicals typically found in elastane production.

Recently, Under Armour has introduced its first product utilizing Neolast: the Vanish Pro T-shirt, part of its Vanish training collection. These T-shirts, available in white or black with contrasting logos, boast lightweight, stretchy, breathable, and fast-drying qualities. Priced at $40, they will initially be exclusive to UA Rewards members and sold on the Under Armour website.

John Hardy 3rd, senior director of product for Under Armour, emphasizes the minimalist design of the Vanish Pro T-shirt, allowing the Neolast material to take center stage. The innovative fiber ensures longevity, consistent fit, and stretch throughout the garment’s lifespan. With plans to incorporate Neolast into various product lines, Under Armour aims to lead the industry towards sustainable and high-performance athletic apparel.
