Ulster Weavers launches new range of Rugby World Cup kitchen textile collection

Ulster Weavers Home Fashions is a home textiles company based in Holywood, Northern Ireland prides itself on the production of high quality linen and textile products has launched its official Rugby World Cup kitchen textiles range in time for kick off this weekend.

The company have created five new limited edition collections consisting of cotton tea towels, bags and aprons. A dual licensed collection has also been designed in collaboration with 12 of the countries taking part.

The designs have been inspired by the Union badges and emblems synonymous with the countries featuring English roses, Irish shamrocks, Scottish thistles and Welsh daffodils.

Wendy Hamilton, Commercial Director at Ulster Weavers said that after their success as a licensee for London 2012 they were approached by the organisers of RWC2015 to become a licensee for this international event and they have made a large investment in the creation and manufacture of the new designs.

They are really proud of the new themed collections designed with rugby fans in mind and they are sure it will appeal to those looking to commemorate the event off the pitch.

Traditional Rugby World Cup symbols such as the kit and the coveted Webb Ellis Cup are also included in the line-up for this limited edition.
Jennie Harvey, designer at Ulster Weavers said that England being the host nation for the event this helped influence the designs. They combined traditional British styled celebrations such as garden fete’s complete with bunting with rugby influences to develop the designs.

They also wanted to create something that people would enjoy using in the home and not simply keep it as memorabilia. The new collections to really appeal to rugby fans and those who love to spend time in the kitchen.

The company has designed a range of themed products for major events including London 2012.

They have held a royal warrant for kitchen textiles since 1995 and produced a commemorative royal baby tea towel celebrating the birth earlier this year.
