Tommy Hilfiger’s new collection encourages us to ‘Luv The World’

Amsterdam-based Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp, recently launched its Spring 2021 Tommy Jeans ‘Luv the World’ capsule in order to build a fashion world that ‘Wastes Nothing and Welcomes All’ to prolong the life of its materials, encourage 100% recycling, and promoting innovative upcycling.

The gender-neutral capsule is made up of 100% recycled and 100% recyclable mono-material styles and hangtags that show creative ways to upcycle old items into new ones, such as turning T-shirts into tote bags or face masks or hoodie into a dog jacket. The hangtags also provide guidance on how to tie-dye white T-shirts for recycling.

Since all clothing materials, from cotton to trims to branding, are made from about 98% of a single fiber, mono-material styles promote circularity, allowing the entire product components from fabric to trims to be recycled after use.

Tommy Hilfiger said their brand has taken tremendous strides in its sustainability priorities over the last 18 months. It’s a dream come true to launch a capsule that embodies their goals and moves them closer to being a more circular and inclusive business. The TOMMY JEANS ‘Luv the World’ capsule goes beyond end-to-end environmental sustainability and social considerations. It seeks to motivate fans to join them in their quest to make fashion more circular and inclusive.

The T-shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants all feature tie-dye coloring and street style graphics including a branded peace sign, planet earth, and heart, with the words “Luv the World” on each product.

This capsule reflects the company’s commitment to protecting the planet by reducing waste and promoting diversity. With funding from PVH, the brand is a part of the Make it Possible, a Forward Fashion initiative that has 15 goals to help raise positive impacts to 100% and help over 1 million people through the supply chain.
