The Lycra Company
The Lycra Company, a global leader in sustainable fibre and technology solutions for the clothing industry, has announced the continuation of its partnership with MarediModa 2025, Europe’s leading trade fair for beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure fabrics. The event will take place in Cannes from 22 to 24 October.
During the exhibition, The Lycra Company will present a variety of garments made using its new renewable Lycra EcoMade fibre, which is partly produced from plant-based materials. On display at the Lycra Brand Lounge will be nine swimwear designs from Arena and five athleisure outfits from Carvico.
The fibre provides the same performance as traditional Lycra while helping reduce the environmental impact of garment production. It serves as a direct substitute for conventional Lycra, requiring no adjustments to existing fabric designs, production methods, or patterns.
“Meaningful progress in sustainable fashion is achieved through collaboration, not isolation,” said Alistair Williamson, vice president of EMEA & South Asia at The Lycra Company. “Our partnership with Arena and Carvico shows how shared commitment and teamwork can speed up the shift toward more responsible solutions. At MarediModa, we are proud to highlight how collaboration among brands, manufacturers, and fibre experts can help shape a more sustainable future for fashion.”
