The three comprehensive exhibitions focused on the entire textile and garment sector of Sri Lanka organized by CEMS-Global USA was inaugurated yesterday at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo by M L.A.M Hisbullah Deputy Minister, Economic Development. The three day exhibition has around 130 overseas companies participating of which 80 companies are from China. The exhibition comprises over 200 booths.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Deputy Minister, Economic Development said that the Sri Lankan textile and apparel industry in the recent past has achieved a steady growth and there is need to introduce latest technology in the textile and apparel industry. He also further said that the exhibition organized by CEMS Lanka will play an important role among their textile and apparel manufacturers thereby creating productive ideas and business opportunities.
CEMS Global USA Group CEO Shahid Sarwar said that the objectives of the exhibition is to bring together most reputed international manufacturers and suppliers to Sri Lanka through its exhibitions and to create much-needed business links among prospective buyers and sellers which will help Sri Lanka textile and garment sector to further expand.
CEMS are pleased to work and focused on expanding its presence in Sri Lanka in the near future. So far, they have organized seven exhibitions in Sri Lanka and their exhibitions have grown strength to strength since inception. They have also seen a tremendous growth in Sri Lanka soon after the war was ended.
The three exhibitions, Sri Lanka 2014 International Expo on Textile and Apparel Technology, 18th Dye+ Chem Sri Lanka 2014 International Expo and Colombo International Yarn and Fabric Show 2014 are held concomitantly under one roof at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo.
