Sympatex receives ‘Best for the World’ B Corp companies of 2021’ title by B Corp

German textile manufacturer Sympatex Technologies has been recognized as one of the ‘Best for the World’ B Corporations for 2021, putting it in the top 5% of the world’s 4,000 B Corporations.

The award was given by B Lab Global to the Germany-based functional materials specialist as a result of initiatives such as the Wear2wear European industry partnership for the rapid closure of the textile cycle, the development of the world’s first climate-neutral membrane, and co-designing and being the first signatory of the United Nations Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action.

Sympatex CEO, Dr. Rüdiger Fox, said that sustainability is at the heart of all they do, and this award honors and validates their years of aggressive dedication to completing the textile loop along with their brand partners. Sympatex recognizes its enormous overall responsibility as a corporation and sets high environmental targets on purpose. Next year, they hope to do even better and live up to their promise.

Sympatex, as a B Corp, is dedicated to fulfilling the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and accountability in order to strike a balance between profit and purpose.

There are currently over 4,000 recognized B Corporations in over 77 countries since the B Corp NGO was founded in 2006. All B Corp firms are on the same path toward a responsible, ecologically sustainable, and socially equitable future for business, with the stated objective of balancing profit maximization with a social mission.

Juan Pablo Larenas, executive director of B Lab Global, said that this year’s Best for the World firms excel in producing a good impact for all stakeholders, including their workers, communities, consumers, and the environment. They’re proud of the community of stakeholder-driven companies they’ve built over the last 15 years, and together, they’re working toward their shared goal of an inclusive, egalitarian, and regenerative economic system that benefits everyone and the planet.
