Sustainably focused fashion label Miaou launches sustainable swimwear

Miaou, a sustainably focused fashion label based in Los Angeles, has announced the debut of its first swimwear collection for spring 2021. The eco-friendly label is recognized for its sensual silhouettes from denim to corsetry, as well as its vibrant designs.

Miaou announced the news on social media, saying that its first swimwear collection would incorporate both iconic and new Miaou motifs.

Alexia Elkaim, founder and designer of Miaou, said it felt like a logical route for the company to go. They developed three styles: the Kauai, the Bambi, and the Demi.

All of the swimwear is constructed of eco-nylon fabric, in keeping with the brand’s environmental objectives which include a focus on using deadstock fabrics, an array of shoppable vintage clothing, production processes that waste less water, and a branded sustainability report).

The collection is sized from XS to Xl and includes a single-cutaway Demi maillot with a crossed halter neck, as well as bikini sets in the Bambi and Kauai styles, high-leg bottom with ruched design for and high-waisted briefs.

Elkaim revitalized the swim shapes with a range of whimsical designs, including cow, Figaro, and money-emblazoned suits, as well as scribbled “Crayola” floral, aqua Hawaiian, and painterly “hot take” designs, as well as solid black, white, and Fuschia solid hues. Each print is also featured on new matching ready-to-wear fashions.

Miaou’s swimwear will be available on the brand’s e-commerce site, as well as with retail partners Fwrd, Kith, Revolve, Selfridges (in-store and online), EndClothing.com, Heat.io, and SSense.com.
