Sukano, Poddar Pigments partner on solution-dyed fibers

Sukano Polymers Corporation has partnered with Poddar Pigments Limited to expand the availability of single pigment dispersion (SPD) masterbatches for solution-dyed fibre applications across the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Under the agreement, Sukano will serve as Poddar’s exclusive techno-commercial partner for direct sales and distribution, including local stock, covering Poddar’s black, white and colour SPD portfolio. The partnership expands Sukano’s fibre-material offering with masterbatches designed for highly concentrated solution-dyed polyester, polyolefin and nylon fibres.

The companies said the products are intended to support requirements including lot-to-lot colour consistency, precise colour matching, purity, process stability and mechanical performance. Sukano will remain responsible for custom colour development and customer-specific formulations, supported by its technical centre and in-house fibre extrusion and testing capabilities.

The collaboration combines Poddar’s fibre-colouration and masterbatch manufacturing expertise with Sukano’s regional technical and customer-support network. Both companies also highlighted their sustainability initiatives. Poddar operates its production facility using renewable solar energy from rooftop installations and a dedicated solar power plant, while Sukano is installing solar panels at facilities in Switzerland and Malaysia as part of its efforts to increase renewable energy use and progress towards net-zero emissions.
