Stahl receives ZDHC Level 3-Certification for over 400 more items

Netherlands-based Stahl, has now received ZDHC Level 3-certification for 400 more goods, increasing the total number of Level 3-certified formulas to 1,800. In 2022, several hundred additional Stahl items are projected to be Gateway Level 3 certified.

Stahl’s developed chemical products and a variety of raw materials were evaluated against ZDHC’s Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) by testing lab Eurofins Chem-MAP in order to obtain the most recent certifications.

Chem-MAP was also utilized to verify that Stahl’s formulations were ZDHC-compliant by auditing chemical management and stewardship processes at three of the company’s European locations. This Level 3 audit has now been passed by six of Stahl’s locations.

Michael Costello, group director of environmental, social, and governance at Stahl, said that this latest addition to their ZDHC-compliant portfolio represents a significant step forward in their mission to eliminate banned compounds from the entire supply chain. They share ZDHC’s aim of decreasing the industry’s environmental effect.

Georgina Mawer, head of Technical Eurofins BLC, said that certifying Stahl to ZDHC MRSL Level 3 indisputably re-affirms their commitment to chemical transparency and sustainability in the supply chain. They’re delighted to have been able to collaborate with the Stahl team and help them achieve ZDHC MRSL Level 3 throughout their whole portfolio.
