Spinnova, Valmet partner for fiber production technology

Spinnova Plc has solidified its collaboration with Valmet through a new Partnership Agreement, appointing Valmet as the exclusive supplier of process equipment to Spinnova’s technology customers. The exclusivity includes a fee based on realized project deliveries. Spinnova has stated that this agreement is not expected to have a material impact on its 2024 financials.

Valmet, known for its leading role in process technologies, has previously provided drying technology for Woodspin’s factory, a joint venture between Spinnova and Suzano. The two companies will continue their collaboration to improve the competitiveness of fibre production by reducing both capital and operational costs.

Tuomas Oijala, CEO of Spinnova, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing partnership, highlighting how combining Spinnova’s innovative fibre technology with Valmet’s global expertise will accelerate progress towards their technology and cost-competitiveness goals. The partnership is also expected to attract new technology customers already engaged in material processing and pulping.

Petri Rasinmäki, Business Line President for Valmet’s Paper Business Line, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Valmet’s commitment to playing a key role in the sustainable transformation of the textile industry. He noted that continuing the collaboration with Spinnova will allow Valmet to further leverage its expertise and expand its influence within the textile sector.
