Silk Mark Expo, an ideal platform to popularise Silk Mark labels and provide valuable linkages to all the stakeholders in the silk industry was organized by Silk Mark Organisation of India (SMOI) under Central Silk Board successfully concluded in Guwahati, Assam yesterday.
The platform showcased premium silk products by 36 Silk Mark members cum authorised users of the Silk Mark labels such as weavers, manufacturers, NGOs, prominent silk dealers, exporters and government supported agencies from all over the country, it encourages local entrepreneurs to start silk businesses.
The Silk Mark Expo in Guwahati gave silk loving connoisseurs a chance to pick pure silk products and know more about silk. Muga, eri, tasar and mulberry products were showcased to generate awareness about the new possibilities of silk products to be developed. Silk testing facilities were also extended to facilitate the consumers to reconfirm the purity of products and reaffirm their faith in Silk Mark.
Silk Mark is an answer to this persistent problem and provides a hassle-free shopping to the silk consumers as there are various inferior quality, low-priced products available in the market which look like silk, thus confusing the consumers. Buying pure silk with Silk Mark will benefit all the persons engaged in the silk industry like farmers rearing silkworms, yarn producers, weavers, designers and sellers.
