Second “Hunar Haatâ€, that was being organized this February has proved to be an effective campaign to promote master artisans from across the country and provide market-opportunity to them. It also gave a strong message of social harmony, said Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
The “Hunar Haat†was a smash hit among the people as more than 26 lakh people, both domestic and foreign visitors, visited this “Hunar Haatâ€. People not only made purchases worth lakhs of rupees from these artisans but these craftsmen got orders from foreign countries as well.
For the first time in this exhibition very exquisite pieces of Handicraft & Handloom work like Makrana Marble products, Bandhej from Sikar, Mojri from Rajasthan, Banjara Embroidery from Telangana, Handmade Locks and Door Handles along with Phool Patti works from Aligarh, Cocoon decorated products from Nagaland, Mizoram Traditional Crafts, Kashmiri Pashmina Shawl, Sandalwood and other wooden works, ceramic pottery work, Banarsi Saree, Cotton designer dress, Manipur’s Beadwork; purse and bags made in Nagaland, jute products from Assam; copper bells art from Gujarat; copper pots from Moradabad; Maheshwari saree from Madhya Pradesh; Bidri handicraft from Karnataka, handloom from Uttarakhand; woolen items from Himachal Pradesh; glass and wooden works from Kerala, jewellery from Rajasthan among others were available.
With the theme “Craft Aur Cuisine Ka Sangamâ€, the second “Hunar Haat†was unique in the sense that it showcased crafts and traditional cuisines brought from different parts of the country at “Bawarchikhanaâ€. Besides handicrafts and various dishes, the people also enjoyed various cultural programmes, Qawwali, Gazal, “Bhajanâ€, puppet dance and bioscope.
The first “Hunar Haat†was organised from November 14 to 27 at India International Trade Fair in November 2016. Next “Hunar Haat†will be organised at Mumbai soon.
“Hunar Haat†will also be organised at Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangluru, Lucknow, Allahabad, Ranchi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Bhopal among others to promote master artisans from all corners of the country. (UNI)
