Savio Macchine Tessili to advance textile recycling research

Savio Macchine Tessili S.p.A., a leading Italian textile machinery manufacturer, has joined forces with the Recycling Atelier Augsburg as of September 2024. This collaboration focuses on enhancing the areas of winding and quality control of yarns, completing the mechanical textile recycling process chain, and unlocking new research possibilities.

As part of this partnership, Savio provides its Proxima Smartconer winder to the Recycling Atelier, emphasizing the importance of the winding process in ensuring yarn quality. The Recycling Atelier network comprises 12 industrial companies that collectively cover the entire process of mechanical textile recycling.

Mauro Moro, CEO of Savio Macchine Tessili, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration: “Working with the Recycling Atelier Augsburg represents significant progress in advancing research on winding technology and quality control in the context of textile recycling.”

The partnership marks a significant milestone in combining industrial expertise with academic research to push the boundaries of sustainable textile recycling, paving the way for a more sustainable future in the textile industry.
