SAS Textile to join other prestigious textile manufacturers at Texworld USA

SAS Textiles, a circular knitter of contemporary and performance textiles, will join other prestigious textile manufacturers at the 19th edition of Texworld USA in the Lenzing Pavilion, the bi-annual textile and sourcing event where it will exhibit a wide range of domestically manufactured, fine gauge and novelty knitted fabrics in various blends of Lenzing viscose, MicroModal, Tencel, and ProModal, along with Supima cotton and other fibres in the Lenzing Pavilion.

CEO Sean Sassounian said that with equipment ranging from super fine gauge jersey machines, to single and double knit stripers, electronic mini-jacs, and sweater gauge jacquard machines, we offer our customers a wide range of constructions using Lenzing’s luxurious fibres. SAS Textiles also uses eco-friendly blends of recycled polyester, Tencel and organic cotton.

The show will also see the debut of the company’s SAS Sport line, featuring high-performance synthetic and stretch fabrics for the active, outdoor, and lifestyle markets.

The new offerings include CAFTA qualified technical fabrics with inherent moisture management, cooling, and UV-protection functions; as well as on-trend patterns and textures.

SAS has recently entered in to a strategic partnership with a printer for sublimation printing on its polyester fabrics. The active and yoga brands are moving beyond basic fabrics and into more visual textures and prints, Sassounian added.

In addition, SAS is a partner in a cut-and-sew facility in Tijuana, Mexico, which is capable of shipping some 50,000 sportswear pieces per week, made from SAS fabrics.

Currently, SAS has 133 circular knitting machines, with a capacity of half a million pounds per week at full capacity and approximately 80 employees.
The company warehouses approximately 3 million pounds of yarn on a consistent basis, and owns equipment to custom blend yarns for sweater knitting. Yarns include cotton and cotton blends; Supima cotton; Rayon, MicroModal, Tencel; 60 colours of yarn-dyed rayon; polyester and nylon, both generic and branded specialty yarns; and eco-friendly fibres, such as recycled polyester, recycled and organic cotton, and Tencel.

The nineteenth edition of Texworld USA will be held at New York’s Javits Convention Center from July 21-23, 2015.
