Revalyu to invest $50 million for US expansion

Chemical PET recycling company, Revalyu, will invest $50 million in the first stage of a planned strategic entry into the USA. In Statesboro, Georgia, it will construct a new facility, with completion anticipated in 2024.

The company, formerly known as perPETual Global Technologies, made its public debut in April 2022 after constructing and commercializing the first glycolysis recycling facility in the world in Nashik, India. This facility currently employs over 300 people and has recycled more than six billion bottles.

Revalyu’s expansion aspirations are being supported by the German Heraeus Group, a Fortune 500 family-owned business that purchased a significant investment in the company in May 2022.

The efficient impurity extraction step of the revalyu recycling process yields recycled PET with the greatest purity. Compared to traditional polyester techniques, the procedure consumes 91% less energy and 67% less water. The company currently offers recycled PET pellets and filament yarns to more than 60 loyal clients in more than 15 countries.

After the first phase of construction is complete, the new 43-acre plant in Statesboro, which will employ about 70 people, will be able to recycle and convert roughly 225,000 pounds per day of used PET waste into sustainable PET polymers (esters) and rPET chips. The factory will exapand to a daily capacity of up to 450,000 pounds.

Applications by customers have demonstrated that recycled PET from plastic bottles has a quality that is comparable to virgin PET and may be used as a stand-in. Revalyu’s rPET chips can be utilized to create any type of environmentally friendly PET product after being processed into high-quality recycled PET. It is currently primarily utilized in the textile sector for seamless knitting, weaving, denim, and applications in the automotive, furniture, and technical textile industries.
