Pyratex
Spanish innovative textile supplier, Pyratex, which turns fibers like bamboo, seaweed, or Tencel into fabrics, is now GRS, OCS, and GOTS certified, ensuring that Pyratex fabrics are created responsibly.
According to the Spanish start-up, these certificates are standards that define rules that set conditions concerning recycled information, chain of custody, social and environmental practices, as well as chemical restrictions, after years of producing with certified partners.
Pilar Tejada López, head of brand and communication at Pyratex, said that they’ve always worked with certified partners throughout their supply chain, and they’re excited to become certified themselves. They’re confident it’ll expand their opportunities in the future; they’re seeing an increase in requests for these certifications from all types of brands. They’re seeing an increase in requests for these certifications from all types of brands because they’re seeing more and more of the brands they collaborate with wanting to be more responsible and make their environmental impact positive.
Pyratex’s GRS (Global Recycled Standard), OCS (Organic Content Standard), and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certifications ensure that the fiber origin and transformation process are both conscious. Pyratex also collaborates with fashion designers that want to push natural innovation and the use of sustainably derived fabrics forward.
