PUMA, Woodspin to bring SPINNOVA fibre to future collections

Woodspin, the producer of eco-friendly SPINNOVA fibre, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with global sports brand PUMA, securing access to wood-based fibre volumes for multiple years. Woodspin is a joint venture between Spinnova and Suzano. The non-binding LOI signifies a shared commitment to integrate SPINNOVA fibre into future PUMA collections, particularly in the Sportstyle category.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with PUMA, a major global brand, on SPINNOVA fibre,” said Shahriare Mahmood, Chief Product and Sustainability Officer at Spinnova. “This partnership is a crucial step in scaling our technology and expanding the market for SPINNOVA fibre.”

Highlighting the environmental benefits, Howard Williams, Director of Global Innovation Apparel & Accessories at PUMA, stated, “Spinnova’s fibre technology provides a revolutionary approach to manmade cellulosic fibre (MMCF) production, utilizing water instead of chemicals to create sustainable fibres.”

Jari Aittakari, Sales Director at Woodspin, emphasized the broader impact, noting, “This partnership demonstrates how renewable and sustainably sourced materials can inspire transformative change in the fashion industry, empowering consumers to make sustainable choices.”
