Polartec introduces sustainable textile solutions

Polartec, a brand under Milliken & Company, known for its innovative and eco-friendly textile solutions, has unveiled Polartec Power Shield RPM. This new fabric is crafted from recycled polyester materials and features Polartec Shed Less technology, utilizing iconic Polartec 200 and Micro Series recycled fleeces. Polartec Power Shield RPM is designed to deliver superior performance while reducing environmental impact and enabling circular processes.

Ramesh Kesh, senior vice president at Milliken & Company and business manager at Polartec, emphasizes the brand’s three-decade commitment to environmental sustainability through textile innovation. With these latest initiatives, Polartec aims to further prioritize planet-friendly practices, focusing on minimizing environmental impact, creating durable products, and fostering circularity.

Polartec Power Shield RPM is engineered for circularity, utilizing recycled polyester fabric to provide waterproofness, wind-proofness, breathability, and high-stretch comfort. Ideal for high-intensity activities like running, cycling, and golfing, this fabric elevates end-user comfort and performance without compromising sustainability.

Offering exceptional stretch and recovery, Polartec Power Shield RPM features a durable non-PFAS coating to repel precipitation and a 10,000mm hydrohead to keep water out. Available in both 3-Layer and 2-Layer versions, this fabric boasts industry-leading breathability, redefining comfort for active users while reducing carbon footprint and fossil fuel reliance through the use of recycled polyester.
