Pochampally IKAT Art Mela, handloom product exhibition begins at ECIL

Pochampally IKAT art Mela 2016, a 8-day Handloom products exhibition organized by Pochampally Handloom Park begins at the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) Exhibition Center, Near ECIL X Road, Kushaiguda.

The Mela was inaugurated by Pavani, Tollywod Actress by lighting the traditional lamp. On the occasssion she said that it’s glad to see various apparel particularly designer Fabrics, silk and cotton sarees, to be showcased for the Fashion Connoisseurs.

Such platforms are required to reach out women looking for well-designed hand made cotton, silk wear & exclusive home textile.

Chairman,Pochampally Handloom Park, Devender and Director Lava Kumar, said that the Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition- element of Indian culture and rich artistry. By promoting handlooms, they support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisans creativity which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures.

The Mela for the fashion connoisseurs will be on till 21st June 2016.
