Pangaia appoints Krishna Nikhil
London-based material sciences company, Pangaia, is expanding its portfolio of fashion and scientific talent. Krishna Nikhil will join Pangaia as the company’s first group chief executive officer on April 1.
Nikhil previously worked at Ssense as the firm’s chief merchandising officer and chief marketing officer, where he helped the brand grow its worldwide online luxury presence and establish a reputation for its extensive range and high-gloss editorial content.
Nikhil possesses a master’s degree in biomaterials and biomedical engineering from the University of Toronto and has worked with consumer-facing enterprises for more than 20 years.
Nikhil said of his appointment that he has seen the quick expansion of Pangaia and is very motivated by the idea of developing an Earth-positive firm. He is thrilled to be a part of the Pangaia collective and the global community that has sprung up around this incredible cause. He is excited to collaborate with the team to expand the group’s beneficial impact on the world.
He will work closely with the company’s founding members and global teams to support the delivery of material science innovations, entry into new verticals, and channel expansion, all while ensuring that the company’s mission of remaining “Earth positive” (avoiding the use of fossil fuels) is maintained.
Pangaia has been on the cutting edge of innovation from its inception, with material introductions (such as Frut and Flwrdwn), a Nordstrom pop-up shop debut, and the most recent venture, the introduction of Pangaia Health and Super Super Bars.
Eva Kruse, the former leader of Global Fashion Agenda, stepped down in December 2020 and joined Pangaia as senior vice president of impact, indicating that the community is growing. Additionally, Dr. Amanda Parkes, Pangaia’s chief innovation officer and a Stanford and MIT graduate, will speak at the Fairchild Media Group sustainability discussion on April 12.
