Outerknown reintroduces Sea Jeans collection with focus on fabrics, fits

Outerknown is continuing to strengthen its approach to responsible denim with the launch of an updated Sea Jeans collection. Based in Carlsbad, California, the brand describes the new release as the next step in its long-term commitment to quality and sustainability.

According to John Moore, co-founder and creative director of Outerknown,, the latest update revisits the most important fits while improving fabric, construction and finishing details to ensure comfort from the first wear and durability over time. He noted that over the years, the collection has evolved through gradual adjustments to fit and washes, guided by wear testing and customer feedback.

As part of the latest update, Outerknown has returned to sourcing fabrics from Candiani Denim after a brief period of working with a vertical manufacturer. Moore emphasised that producing high-quality denim requires patience and close collaboration with skilled partners, as well as ongoing attention to customer input.

The new fabric, developed by Candiani, weighs 13.75 ounces and is made from 98 percent organic cotton and 2 percent spandex. It offers the structure and character of rigid denim with a subtle amount of stretch for added comfort and shape retention. Moore described the fabric as having a dry hand and strong character, noting that its stretch quality is almost unnoticeable while enhancing overall fit.
