Nona Source launches ambassador program

Nona Source, the luxury resale platform, has launched an ambassador program to assist up-and-coming designers and offers deadstock fabrics and leathers from top brands for reuse by fashion and design experts.

The platform, which evolved from LVMH’s DARE intrapreneurial program, has named four ambassadors and established “The Mindful Creatives Collective” to showcase the use of deadstock materials.

According to Nona Source in the statement, the first ambassadors were chosen because they represent the “perfect balance between innovation, art, and craft.” They will use the platform over the course of the following year to “renew their creativity and get inspired by their deadstock fabrics to imagine some of the most inspiring and low-impact looks within their collections.

Among the designers involved in the initiative is Cecilie Bahnsen of Denmark, a finalist for the 2017 LVMH Prize, who collaborates with Nona Source to give new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded, and Karoline Vitto of Brazil, now based in London, who sees using deadstock materials in design as a way to combine sustainability and inclusivity.

The other two designers are Victor Weinsanto, a young designer recognized for his “Queer” style, and Nensi Dojaka, winner of the 2021 LVMH Prize. Victor Weinsanto uses deadstock materials to give his creations a more modern and environmentally concerned perspective.

Dojaka added that by sourcing textiles from Nona Source, he could envision styles that express his unique aesthetic in which exposed seams, sheer and matte contrasts, and fine straps create a graphic play on the body.
