NILIT launches eco-friendly nylon yarn for protective apparel

NILIT has introduced SENSIL® Toughtex, a special type of premium nylon 6,6 yarn used for making protective clothing. It is more durable and resistant to abrasion compared to regular nylon. This yarn is created following NILIT’s sustainability program, ensuring a positive impact on the environment.

Michelle Lea, the Vice President of Global Marketing at NILIT, mentioned that consumers who need protective clothing demand both technical features and environmentally friendly options or activities will not compromise on comfort, functionality, or the environmental impact of the products they choose.

SENSIL Toughtex yarn is designed to be lightweight, flexible, and strong for long-lasting apparel that is comfortable to wear. The fabric made from this yarn is incredibly light, starting from just 100 grams per square meter. It is ideal for various activities where durability and comfort are crucial, including workwear and protective gear for activities like biking, skateboarding, or skiing.

This tenacious yarn not only serves protective wear but also extends to other categories like denim, socks, shoes, bags, activewear, outerwear, and gear. Its remarkable durability and comfort make it suitable for a wide range of products. It has been proven that apparel made with SENSIL Toughtex yarn has better tear strength and abrasion resistance compared to regular nylon yarns.

NILIT is deeply committed to sustainability, not only in their product innovations but also in the way they manufacture these products. SENSIL Toughtex is just one of their many innovations in their vast collection of sustainable premium nylon 6,6 products for textiles and apparel. They strive to promote sustainability across the entire global supply chain to make a positive difference.
