Newlife yarn, recycled from PET bottles expands its range

Saluzzo Yarns, Sinterama Group, Saluzzo (Cuneo) has announced that a number of European fashion brands have now chosen its Newlife yarn, a recycled polyester filament yarns made from 100% post consumer plastic bottles, for their Spring/Summer 2014 collections.

Saluzzo Yarns has won the ‘Best Product’ category award for the technologically innovative product Newlife, a certified range of high quality polyester yarns, with a large number of textile applications, made entirely from recycled plastic bottles treated solely by mechanical methods (not chemical), and with an exclusive production chain that is fully traceable and 100% Italian.

The entire production process is certificated by Global Recycle Standard, Oeko-tex and Plastic Second Life, which certifies its post-consumption origin and enables traceability of the entire chain right back to the company that collects the bottles from the separated waste plants

Newlife product range it is available with counts from 33 Dtex to 2000 Dtex, used by its customers for the creation of knitted fabrics and weaves in different sectors, among which fashion garments, sportswear, workwear, corporate wear and technical fabrics.

Newlife today has over fifty associate companies that use the yarns to obtain textiles for many applications; fashion, outdoor clothing, sportswear and technical outfitting, underwear, workwear, medical and protective clothing, not to mention home furnishing, interior and outdoor design.

Newlife has recently reveaked Max Mara would include Newlife in its Spring-Summer 2014 collection of Weekend Max Mara. The garments of Weekend Max Mara made in Newlife will be sold in 1500 stores of about 50 countries worldwide. The Newlife project is in store starting from January 2014
