Nanollose secures Indian patent for sustainable textile innovation

Australian textile innovator Nanollose has received a patent in India for its groundbreaking technology that ferments organic waste from the food and beverage industries to create microbial cellulose, which can be spun into fibers. This sustainable approach transforms waste into valuable textile materials, offering a significant environmental benefit.

The patent, specifically for the Nullarbor lyocell fiber technology process, is the result of a joint application between Nanollose and Grasim Industries. Grasim Industries is part of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the world’s leading producers of man-made cellulosic fibers.

This partnership leverages the strengths of both companies to advance the production of sustainable textiles. The patented technology promises to enhance the eco-friendly fiber market, providing a viable alternative to traditional textile manufacturing methods and promoting a more sustainable industry.
