Misho and Bhaane join hands to create sustainable collection

The celebrity-approved jewellery label, Misho’s has launched ‘pods’ (sterling silver earrings that are designed to hold your earpods). The London based brand has been popular ever since its launch in 2016. The aesthetics of the label are clean lines, architectural forms and simple geometric shapes.

Recently the brand announced its partnership with a Delhi-based slo-fashion minimalist brand Bhaane. The collaboration has fine-tuned its self in light of Bhaane’s Banarasi saris, lehengas and ready-to-wear collections. The result of the partnership was a striking collection of necklaces, earrings and rings. Suhani Parekh, the designer and founder of Misho, stated that while she was going up important events were marked by her mother or her grandmother with a piece of jewellery or a sari from their collection. She added that series and jewellery have become an important part of her heirloom.

She stated that this partnership housed two pieces of her memory. For this specific project, the designers used recycled sterling silver and fabric offcuts, in a bid to be more sustainable in their approach. The jewellery collection bridges modern and traditional Indian sensibilities. The golden arc necklace has been designed for this very purpose. Other pieces in the collection include Natana Multi-Colour Necklace, with pendants wrapped in emerald and fuchsia pink fabric and the Inodaya Maang Tikka, a circular maang tikka with a fabric inset within its bezel.

Sushani added that every piece is embedded with its individual identity and tells a different story. Palak stated that she had been finding ways to deal with excessive fabric for years and this collaboration showed the perfect way to do that.
