Milliken launches Millibrite for improved fabric whitening

Milliken & Company has introduced Millibrite, a next-generation fabric whitening technology developed to meet the changing needs of modern laundry care products.

Millibrite uses a proprietary polymer-based technology that applies controlled amounts of blue-violet colour to fabric surfaces. This helps balance the yellowing that naturally occurs over time, giving fabrics a cleaner and brighter appearance through repeated wash cycles without relying on harsher chemical treatments.

“Whiteness remains one of the most important signals of cleanliness, but the way consumers experience it has changed,” said Dirk Vanhee, Sales and Marketing Director for Milliken’s Polymer Solutions business in Europe. “Millibrite is designed to deliver consistent, visible results across real-world conditions, from LED-lit homes to natural daylight.”

Along with improved whitening performance, Millibrite offers flexibility for detergent manufacturers. It can be used in both liquid and powder detergent formulations and is compatible with a wide range of fibres, including natural and synthetic textiles.
