Milliken & Company receives EcoVadis Gold Rating

Milliken & Company, a diversified manufacturer committed to sustainability, is honored to get a gold certification on its 2022 EcoVadis evaluation. EcoVadis is a reputable source of corporate sustainability ratings, including in-depth analysis of environmental, social, and ethical factors for more than 200 different purchase categories and 160 different nations. According to EcoVadis’ ratings of more than 90,000 enterprises, Milliken ranks in the top 7%.

Halsey Cook, president and CEO of Milliken & Company, said that Milliken relies on their core principles, including sustainability and integrity, to drive their purpose and success. To assist us to create a healthy future, the EcoVadis assessment benchmarks their efforts and directs their improvements.

Using a methodology based on international sustainability standards like the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000, EcoVadis evaluates sustainability policies, actions, and results in four main themes — environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The score and subsequent gold grade for Milliken represent the company’s efforts throughout its entire textile, chemical, floor covering, and healthcare industries because its performance is evaluated at the enterprise level.

Kasel Knight, general counsel and head of sustainability at Milliken, said that comprehensive third-party studies like the EcoVadis assessment assist them understand how they are performing, what adjustments may be made, and ultimately encourage them to hit new heights in their sustainable journey.
