MANGO
Spanish clothing company, Mango has introduced its first denim collection made with a single type of fiber, without rivets or jacron labels to make recycling easier in an apparent nod to circularity.
It is the first capsule collection that Mango has introduced as part of its new sustainability strategy, which aims to incorporate circularity into its design so that by 2030, such criteria will predominate in the design of its products, and 100% of the fibers will be of the sustainable origin or recycled.
The clothing was also created utilizing 3D digital design technology, which reduced the amount of samples needed and helped reduce waste during product development.
The new collection, in capsule format, includes various Mango Woman garments in denim, such as jackets, gilets, trousers, skirts and jumpsuits, in indigo and black, some with dirty washes, in on-trend silhouettes influenced by the 2000s.
Mango has manufactured the garments in this collection, minimizing its environmental impact in aspects such as the use of chemicals and water, and inside the garments, there is a diagram explaining the circular design to its customers, thus reducing the production of paper labels.
Mango aspires to boost design circularity in its goods over the next several years, either by creating clothing that is simpler to recycle (taking into account its composition or structure), focusing on durability, or utilizing designs that generate less textile waste.
Mango produced the clothing in this collection by minimizing its environmental impact in areas like the usage of chemicals and water. Additionally, within each piece of clothing is a schematic that helps clients understand circular design, removing the need for paper labels.
