The Lycra Company is expanding its focus on the workwear and protective clothing market with a range of fibre technologies designed to improve comfort, durability and performance in demanding work conditions. The company will make its first appearance at the NSC Safety Congress and Expo in Indianapolis from September 14 to 16. At the event, it will introduce its Fibers That Work portfolio to the North American market.
The portfolio combines existing and new fibre technologies for workwear, uniforms and protective clothing. These solutions address key needs such as moisture management, visibility, antistatic protection, stretch and durability.
One of the technologies being presented is Lycra Antistatic fibre, which provides built-in antistatic properties while maintaining stretch, comfort and a good fit. Lycra T400 fibre is designed for durable workwear that requires comfort stretch, long-lasting fit and moisture management. According to the company, fabrics made with the fibre can withstand up to 100 industrial washing cycles.
The wider Fibers That Work portfolio reflects the growing demand for workwear that offers both protection and improved comfort and durability. It also includes fibre technologies made with recycled and renewable raw materials, as manufacturers look for ways to reduce the environmental impact of workwear while maintaining performance.
